Obituary for Gerald W. Kaufman
GERALD W. KAUFMAN, 58, of Milledgeville, IL, died Friday, April 20, 2018, at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, IL.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Kaufman, pastor of Gospel Assembly in Moline, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL. A memorial has been established by the family.
Gerry was born March 30, 1960, in Sterling, IL, to Clyde W. and Louise J. (VanDyke) Kaufman. He was educated in the Chadwick, IL grade schools and was a graduate of Chadwick High School. Gerry first married Charlene Decker. He later married Karen R. Kirk on September 10, 2011, in Milledgeville. Gerry was first employed as a security guard at the Cordova Nuclear Power Generation Plant and later was employed at Elkay Manufacturing in Savanna, IL. Gerry was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed wood turning and the art of whip cracking.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; his mother, Louise Kaufman of Chadwick, IL; one daughter, Tami (Ronnie) Edfors of Fulton, IL; one stepdaughter, Faith Morrison of Dixon, IL; one stepson, Lee James (Marina Luna) Kirk of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren, Carly Kaufman and Sydney Kemp; and one sister, Janet Diddens of Shakopee, MN.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, and one brother, David Kaufman.
