Obituary for Aldy A. Skarin
ALDY A. SKARIN, 59, of Albany, IL, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 at his home. Aldy was born November 4, 1951, in Lebanon, MO, to Andy and Ruth Amy (Turner) Skarin. He was educated in the Fenton Grade School " Fenton, IL and graduated from Erie High School " Erie, IL in 1969. He attended Morrison Institute of Technology in Morrison, IL. Aldy served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Colleen D. Schroeder on August 7, 1982, in Fenton, IL. He worked at 3M in Cordova, IL for 36 years, retiring in 2007. Aldy was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Albany American Legion Hanson/Kennedy Post #1079, and was a past commander. He was a member of the Deadwood South Dakota VFW. Aldy was a lifetime member of H.O.G. (Harleys Owner Group), and a member of the Freeport Chapter of ABATE. He enjoyed drag racing, riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Colleen; one daughter, Shae (Chad) Ernst of Norwalk, IA; one son, Jeremy Schroeder of Rock Falls, IL; one grandson, Nate Kirts; one sister, Andrea (Bruce) Bufe of Davenport, IA; several nieces and nephews.
