Obituary for Arlene Mae Stuart
ARLENE MAE STUART, 86, of Fulton, IL, died Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Harbor Crest Home in Fulton.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin VerHoeven, pastor of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton.
Arlene was born October 25, 1932, in Thomson, IL, to Henry C. and Clara (Bielema) Balk. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School. Arlene married Robert G. Stuart on July 9, 1953, in Fulton, IL. He died January 13, 2018. Arlene was employed the Atlee Burpee Seed Company in Clinton, IA and Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL. She also did janitorial work and house cleaning for many years. Arlene was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Fulton. She enjoyed flower gardening, shopping, and spending time with children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and was active in a couples league. Memorials to First Christian Reformed Church and Harbor Crest Home have been established.
Survivors include one daughter, Peg (Mike) Wessels of Fulton, IL; four sons, Vince (Deb) Stuart and Warren (Joy) Stuart both of Fulton, IL; Gordon (Sandy) Stuart of Albany, IL; and Kent (Kim) Stuart of Chadwick, IL; eleven grandchildren, Michael (Kate) Wessels; Brad (Bri) Stuart, Lisa (Nick) Petersen; Kelly (Kenny Wilson) Stuart, Kevin (Regina) Dykstra, Allison (Phil) Hahn; Ashley (Sam) Yoder, Kasie (Kris) Swihart; Sara Bruns, Stanley (Ashley) Stuart, Shane (Tiffany) Stuart; one grandson-in-law, Jordan Gilliam; twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; one granddaughter, Jessi Gilliam; two brothers, Kenneth and Eugene Balk; one sister, Irma Balk; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Balk.
