Obituary for Betty A. Larson
BETTY A. LARSON, 95, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the nursing home.Betty was born January 17, 1921 Union Grove Township, IL, to Martin C. and Nellie (Smith) Vogel. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School " Morrison, IL. She married Robert Frank "Diz" Larson on September 13, 1938 in Elk Point, SD. He died August 23, 2003. Betty was first employed as a secretary at the City of Fulton Water Works Department under the direction of Jim Shipma. She then was employed as a secretary for the Riverbend School District for many years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton, the Fulton Women"s Club and was a long time member and volunteer at the Fulton Country Club. Betty enjoyed traveling and playing cards. Survivors include one son, Gary (Winnie) Larson of Alexandria, VA; two grandchildren, Eric (Marie) Larson of Manassas, VA, and Cheryl (Mark) Wilkinson of Alexandria, VA; three great grandchildren, Michael and Brandon Larson, Joshua Carden; one brother, Arthur C. (Shirley) Vogel of Seattle, WA.She was preceded in death by her husband, Diz; two sisters, Judy Vogel and Marian Kettler.
