Obituary for Betty Jo Black Baker
BETTY JO BLACK-BAKER, 63, of Erie, IL, formerly of Fenton, IL, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at her home in Erie. Betty Jo was born May 8, 1948, in Morrison, IL, to Ronald and Verelle (McDonald) Black. She was educated in the Erie grade schools and graduated from Erie High School. She attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL and also attended Blackhawk Community College in Rock Island, IL. She married Steven Wolever in 1966. She later married William M. Baker in June of 1994, in Fenton. Betty Jo was employed by Central and Southwest Services in Dallas, TX, retiring in 1993. After retiring, she moved back home to Fenton. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church. Betty Jo had a lifelong love of animals, beginning from her early years in 4-H. Survivors include her husband, Bill; two daughters, Amber (Darryl) Kellner of Delaware, OH and Heather (Brian) Syrett of Columbus, OH; one son, Michael (Maria) Wolever of Columbus, OH; six grandchildren, Hannah and Isabella Kellner, Gretta and Luke Syrett, Brandon and Zachery Wolever; one sister, Mrs. Carol Riewerts of Fenton, IL; one brother, Gary Black of Fenton, IL; her best friend of 45 years, Susan Tegeler of Fenton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
