Obituary for Betty Lou Komlanc
BETTY LOU KOMLANC, 91, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at her home. Betty Lou was born July 25, 1921, in Spring Valley, IL, to William P. and Mary (Craven) Bulfer. She was educated in the St. Joseph"s Grade School in Peru, IL, and was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. She married Anthony M. Komlanc on June 8, 1946, in Peru, IL. He died November 23, 2007. Betty Lou was first employed by Westclox in Peru, IL, during World War II, while she also volunteered as a nurse"s aide. While raising her children in Morrison, she worked at Northwestern Title Company and the Whiteside County Office of the Illinois Department of Public Aid. Betty Lou was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Morrison and the church"s Altar and Rosary Society. She also served as a Girl Scout leader. Betty Lou enjoyed knitting, playing cards, traveling, and spending time at the family cabin in Hayward, WI, with her children and grandchildren. She was a gifted pianist and artist. Survivors include five daughters, Betsy (Jim) Prombo of Morrison, IL; Nancy Komlanc (Gary Hamblin) of Bloomington, IL; Mary Jane (Tim) Thomas of Dunwoody, GA; Rosemary (Jim) Sissine of Atlanta, GA; and Sara (Kelvin) Tenboer of Morrison, IL; one son, Tony Komlanc, Jr. (Mary Connett) of St. Croix, USVI; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Komlanc of St. Charles, IL; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tony, two sisters, Mary Beck and Ellen Greenis; two brothers, Bill Bulfer and Jim Bulfer.
