Obituary for Cecilia Grace Cooper
CECILIA GRACE COOPER, 91, of Rest Haven Nursing Home, York, PA formerly of Morrison, IL died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the nursing home. Cecilia was born February 9, 1921 in Tiskilwa, IL to Alvin and Mary Jane (Hurley) Steimle. She attended grade school in Osceola and graduated from Bradford High School in Bradford, IL. During WWII, Cecilia worked at Caterpillar in Peoria, IL building bombs for the war. She married Kenneth M. Cooper on January 2, 1960 in Morrison, IL. He died November 7, 1980. She was employed at General Electric in Morrison, retiring in 1981. Cecilia was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Morrison and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post #7374 in York, PA. Survivors include one daughter, Martha (Mark) Kreiser of York, PA; three grandchildren, Larisa (Eric) Senft, Marina (William) Wilder, and Jason Voss; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Richard Lee Sparger and one son in infancy; one daughter, Mary Claire Sparger; one sister, Marian Parker; four brothers, Ferd, Everett, Joseph, and Leo Steimle; and her beloved collie, Pal.
