Obituary for Claribelle Ialeen Traxler

CLARIBELLE IALEEN TRAXLER, 87, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, died Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Albany United Methodist Church with Pastor Toni Lucas officiating, followed by a light luncheon. A memorial has been established to the Albany United Methodist Church. The family is being assisted by the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. A private family service, to inter Claire's cremains next to her husband's, will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park in Kenosha, WI, at a later date.

Claribelle was born May 7, 1930, in Waukegan, IL, to Joseph and Mildred (Miller) VanTreeck. She was a graduate of Waukegan High School in 1948. Claire married David “Brad” Traxler on December 26, 1950 in Waukegan. Claire and David lived in Waukegan until 1969 and then moved to Albany, IL, and then to Clinton, IA, in 1981 where they were active in the Episcopal Church. After retirement, they moved to Mission, TX where they were active in planting St. Peter and St. Paul Episcopal Church. He died on September 6, 2002 and Claire moved back to the Albany area to be close to her family and started going to the Albany United Methodist Church with her daughter. Claire was licensed since 1966 as an amateur radio operator WA9PHF. She enjoyed doing lapidary and making jewelry. Claire spent her time making afghans for everyone. She was an avid reader and loved organic gardening. She enjoyed helping her daughters at Words of Wisdom Bookstore in Fulton, IL.

Survivors include two daughters, Bethany (Stephen) Jordan and Shelley (David) Baker both of Albany, IL; one son, David (Kimberly) Traxler of Arlington Heights, IL; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Stephanie) Jordan, Amber (Jesse) Upah, Travis Jordan, Bethany (Derek) Mehrle, Ryan (Emily) Baker, David D. (Emily) Traxler, and Katie Traxler; nine great-grandchildren, Austin and Dominic Jordan; Cecilia and Iris Upah; David and Samuel Mehrle; Colin, Elijah, and Hudson Baker; two sisters, Ellamae (Tom) McGrath of Dallas, TX and Joann (Donald) Jablonicky of Colby, WI; and a brother, Robert (Charlotte) VanTreeck of Orland Park, IL; two sisters-in-law, Patricia VanTreeck of Sun City, AZ and Nancy VanTreeck of Northbrook, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, James and Gerald VanTreeck.
