Obituary for Danye J. Southern
DANYE J. SOUTHERN, 71, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Genesis East Hospital ICU in Davenport, IA.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Danye was born February 25, 1947, in Gary, IN, to James and Iska (Folkes) Southern. He was educated in the Gary, IN, school systems and was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Gary, IN. Danye served in the United States Navy. He retired from ArcelorMittal in East Chicago, IN and after he retired he worked for the Carpenters Union. Danye loved watching horse racing.
Survivors include one daughter, Tracy Webber of Miles, IA; one son, Scott Southern of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren; one brother, James R. Southern of Fulton, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
