DENISE MEREMA, 69, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, December 27, 2024, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Lingle, Chaplain at MercyOne, officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
Denise was born January 1, 1955, in Savanna, IL, to Clayton A. and Wanda J. Bailey. She attended Fulton grade schools and Fulton High School, graduating from Savanna High School in 1974. Denise married Michael A. Ritchie in 1973. On July 3, 1993, she married Kenneth "Ken" R. Merema in Fulton, IL, and they shared their lives for over 27 years until his passing on January 27, 2021. Denise worked at Drives in Fulton, IL, and later transitioned to security roles at ADM and Wild Rose, retiring in 2021. She was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton and found great joy in flower gardening, birdwatching (especially hummingbirds), and traveling on the Harley with her late husband, Ken. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Tracey (Joseph Findley) Regenwether of Clinton, IA; one grandson, Lane Regenwether; three brothers, Stephen (Bonnie) Bailey of Fulton, IL, Michael (Emily) Bailey and Anthony Bailey both of Galesburg, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; one sister, Sandra Kelly; one brother, David Bailey; one nephew, Faron Bailey; two great-nephews, Jordan Farr and Jayden Bailey; one great-great-niece, Savannah Namer.
