Obituary for Donald D. Fair
DONALD D. FAIR, 72, of Savanna, IL, died Friday, May 17, 2013, at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Don was born January 17, 1941, in Beardstown, IL, to Lester and Helen (Thomson) Fair. He was educated in the Beardstown Grade Schools and was a 1959 graduate of Beardstown High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Don married Warren W. Dollinger, Jr. on July 23, 2010, in Coralville, IA. He was employed by Drives, Inc. in Fulton, IL, for 36 years, retiring in 2005. Don was a member of the American Legion Post #148 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2223 both in Savanna, IL. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching TV news channels. Survivors include his spouse, Warren W. Dollinger, Jr.; three sisters, Patricia (Larry) Cox of Savanna, IL; Marcia Fair (Richard Bourland) of Clinton, IA; and Susan Fair (Michael Milroy) of Camanche, IA; three brothers, David (Michelle) Brown of California; Daniel Brown of Clinton, IA and Bradley (Sherrie) Thurman of Rushville, IL; a niece, Lori Cox; nephews, Gregory Cox, Douglas Cox, and Jeffrey Knouse; special friends, Shawn Gabriel, Cassandra Galligher and "Grandson" " Dalton James Gabriel. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael.
