Obituary for Donald H. Shelly
DONALD H. SHELLY, 74, OF 11150 Meredosia Rd., Albany, IL, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home. Don was born June 10, 1940 in Goose Lake, IA, to Harold L. and Josephine (Noordof) Shelly. He was educated in the Maquoketa grade schools and attended Maquoketa High School. On November 27, 1971 he married Loretta M. Petersen in Clinton, IA. Don was first employed by Champion Package Company in Clinton. Most recently he engaged in farming in the Northfield, WI area. He was a former member of Lyons United Methodist Church in Clinton. Don enjoyed farming, being out of doors, caring for dairy cattle and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; four sons, Robert (Cheryl) Petersen of Rock Falls, IL, Matthew (Michelle Clark) Shelly of Clinton, IA, Timothy Shelly of Albany, IL and James Shelly of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren, Christine (Kyle) Busse, Charles (Star) Petersen, LeRoy Petersen; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Heiken of Fulton, IL; one brother, Richard (Judy) Shelly of Buffalo, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents.
