Obituary for Donna J. Medema
DONNA J. MEDEMA, 80, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at the center. Donna was born April 9, 1933, in Morrison, IL, to Andrew F. and Lepha Mae (Milnes) Witt. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. She married George Medema in 1951 in Morrison, IL. Donna was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and raising her family. Survivors include three daughters, Julie (Thomas) Schumacher of Morrison, IL; Jeanie Medema of Tucson, AZ; and Janice (Charles) Swanson of Prophetstown, IL; four sons, Joe (Kathy) Medema of Ashton, IL; Jerry (Mitzi) Medema of Watertown, WI; Jon (Monica) Medema of Prophetstown, IL, and Jim (Beth) Medema of Prophetstown, IL; eleven grandchildren, Josh (Tiffany) Medema, Amber (Joni) Cruz, Matthew Schumacher, Lukas (Karen) Schumacher, Emily Schumacher-Hagen, Zachary Schumacher, Jeremy Medema, Ryan Medema, Craig Medema, Kristina Medema, and Mason Medema; four step grandchildren, Shawn Swanson, Cherish (Bill) Stickel, John Deppe, and David Deppe; five great-grandchildren, Elijah Hagan, Azarel, Layla, Zeva Cruz, Payton Medema; five step great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Stickel, Austin Stickel, Taylor Swanson, Chase Swanson, and Dalton Swanson; one sister, Sandra Witt of O"Fallon, IL; one brother, Harlan (Lee) Witt of Auburn Hills, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jacob Medema.
