Obituary for Dorothy A. Huizenga
DOROTHY A. HUIZENGA, 79, of Morrison, IL, died Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Pleasant View Home, Morrison, IL.Dorothy was born January 25, 1938, in Clyde Township, IL, to Leroy and Doris I. (Detra) Fletchic. She was educated in the rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1956 graduate of Morrison High School. She attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, IA. Dorothy married Ronald G. Huizenga on December 20, 1957, in Morrison, IL. He died March 24, 2017. Dorothy was first employed by the former Clinton Corn Processing Company in Clinton, IA and also worked as an Avon representative and part time for H R Block. Most recently, she was employed by Sullivans Grocery Store in Morrison. Dorothy was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and the PTL Singers and a member of the churchs choir. She enjoyed counted cross stitching and participated in Morrison Music Theatre Association.Survivors include one daughter, Julie Cornwell of Dixon, IL; two sons, David (Sarah) Huizenga of Fulton, IL and Andy (Lori) Huizenga of Suffolk, VA; eight grandchildren, Sam and Rachael Cornwell; Dawson, Sadie and Gavin Huizenga; Evan Hill; Will and Liam Huizenga; and one sister, Mary (Jon) Matthews of Lanark, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Leonard Hartman; her husband, Ron, and one sister, Sharon Rust.
