Obituary for Dorothy E. Waldbusser
DOROTHY E. WALDBUSSER, 88, of Prophetstown, IL, died Thursday, October 11, 2012. Dorothy was born October 8, 1924, to Claude and Effie (Huizenga) Glazier. She was a 1942 graduate of Cordova High School, in Cordova, IL. Dorothy was the beloved wife of Alfred H. "Al" Waldbusser for 62 years; they were married on February 17, 1945 in Erie, IL. He died on July 2, 2007. The couple moved to Yorktown Road, Rte. 3, Prophetstown, IL, where they farmed for 38 years before they retired and moved into Prophetstown in 1983. Later in life she worked at MicroGear in Prophetstown. In her early years Dorothy enjoyed playing pinochle with her husband; in later years she enjoyed writing letters to her family, and reading. She was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church, Prophetstown, IL, where she participated in the church"s Women"s Society. Survivors include one son, Alan (Barbara) Waldbusser of Purdy, MO; one daughter, Peggy (Doug) Moews of Brookfield, WI; five grandchildren, Heidi (Cameron) of Redmond, WA, Matthew (Adriana) of Austin, TX, Jakob (Angie) of Frisco, TX, Joe (Kendra) of Loveland, CO, Emily (Christopher) of Brookfield, WI; eight great-grandchildren, Jakob, Zachary, Austin, Jordon, Christopher, Madison, Sam and Eli; three sisters-in-law, Florence, Helen and Genevieve Waldbusser; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Waldbusser and Fritz Knapp; a special nephew, Art Glazier, who was raised by Dorothy and Al. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Al; one sister, Pearl Glazier; three brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Clarence "Smoky" Glazier.
