Obituary for Dorothy Juist

DOROTHY JUIST, 92, of The Alverno Healthcare Center, Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Alverno. Dorothy was born November 29, 1920, in Chicago, IL, to Richard and Jenny (Huizenga) DeYoung. She was educated in the Chicago, IL and Asworth, MI schools. She married Gerald D. Juist on May 29, 1941, in Chicago. He died January 21, 1990. Dorothy farmed alongside her husband in the rural Fulton area for 24 years. She then worked at General Electric in Morrison, IL. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton, and the church"s Hannah Mission Circle. She attended Bible study at Second Reformed Church in Fulton for many years. She was also a member of the Fulton Country Club, the Ladies Golf Association, Whiteside County Homemakers and the 500 Card Club of Fulton. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Henningsen of Morris, IL and Kimberly (Richard) Holden of Mt. Juliet, TN; one son, Gary (Deb) Juist of Polo, IL; four grandchildren, Jim Schipper, Susan (Dr. Keith) Rezin; Sarah (Kris) Schmidt, Rachel (Scott) Phillips; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; two brothers, Kenneth DeYoung and Peter DeYoung.
