Obituary for Elmer L. Schipper
ELMER L. "SKIP" SCHIPPER, 72, of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Regency Care in Sterling, IL. Elmer was born September 26, 1943, in Morrison, IL, to Elmer M. and Florence (Reynolds) Schipper. He was educated in the Charles City, IA schools. Elmer married Judy M. Kuehl on July 11, 1970, in Morrison, IL. She died March 10, 2012. He later married Faye L. Thayer on September 27, 2013, in Sterling, IL. Elmer was employed by the former Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, IL. He was an avid HAM radio operator and greatly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Survivors include his wife, Faye; two sons, Larry (Mary) Schipper of Morrison, IL and Alan (Paula) Schipper of Sterling, IL; one stepdaughter, Nicole Thayer of Sterling, IL; five sisters, Janis Eichenberger of Charles City, IA; Sharon Messer of Charles City, IA; Patsy (Andy) de Anda of Texas; Michelle (Fred) Cobo of Texas; and Alice (Jim) Robinson of Oklahoma; three brothers, Allen C. Schipper of Texas; William M. (Margaret Ann) Schipper of Oklahoma; and Harry Rimrod of Charles City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Judy; and one sister, Carol Gable.
