Obituary for Evelyn Ruth Carle
EVELYN RUTH CARLE, 93, of 816 13th Avenue, Fulton, IL, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at her residence. Evelyn was born April 16, 1921, in Fulton, IL, to John and Tena (Balk) Sikkema. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and attended Fulton High School. Evelyn married William Carle in 1958 in Riverside, CA. He died in May of 1976. She was employed at General Electric in Morrison, IL; Interstate Engineering, making vacuums, in Anaheim, CA; and at Anaheim Memorial Hospital preparing food for the doctors. Evelyn was a member of Second Reformed Church in Fulton, IL. Through the years, Evelyn had served as caregiver for many family members. She loved to crochet, especially dish cloths and towels. Evelyn was also an avid bird watcher, with her favorite bird being the Blue Jay. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and her favorite dog, Buttons. Survivors include three daughters, Alice (Larry) McDonald of Fulton, IL; Mrs. Betty Jo Newey of Lake Elsinore, CA; and Debra Carle of Fulton, IL; one son, William (Linda) Carle of Norco, CA; one daughter-in-law, Judith Koenes of Clinton, IA; many many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Vernon Sikkema of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; one son, Larry Koenes; two sisters, Margaret Jackson and Betty Hamilton; six brothers, Arthur, George, Alvin, Barney, Eugene, and in infancy, Willard Sikkema.
