Obituary for Frances B. Decker
FRANCES B. DECKER, 85, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the center. Frances was born June 25, 1924 in Lincoln, IL to John and Beatrice (Brown) Redshaw. She was educated in the Prophetstown Grade Schools and attended Prophetstown High School. She married Aubrey L. Decker on June 28, 1940 in Clinton, IA. He died January 16, 2005. Frances farmed with her husband, for many years, in the rural Tampico and Erie areas. She also was employed as a teller for the Erie State Bank in Erie, IL and most recently worked as a bookkeeper for the Erie Unit District #1 School System, retiring in 1988. Frances was a member of Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown and enjoyed ceramics and cooking. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Dave) Wherry of Fulton, IL; three sons, Gene (Marie) Decker of Atkinson, IL; A. Dean Decker of Geneseo, IL; and Neil (Irma) Decker of Prophetstown, IL; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Christa) Allen, Greg (Kate) Decker, Annette Decker, Brian (Linda) Decker, Brett (Kirsten) Decker, Matthew (Michelle) Decker, and Marianne Decker; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Rosie Meier of Prophetstown, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey; one sister, Vernabel Thormahlen.
