Obituary for Gary Lee Gooch
GARY LEE GOOCH, 81, of Albany, IL, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 at his home.Gary was born July 1, 1935, in Purdin, MO, to Earl D. and Bernice M. (Bundridge) Gooch. He was a 1953 graduate of Liberty High School in Browning, MO and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Gary married Marilyn B. Buikema on October 21, 1956, in Albany. He was first employed by Montgomery Elevators in Moline, IL for 20 years and following that he was employed by the Village of Albany as Maintenance Superintendent for 23 years. Gary was a member of Albany United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and helping with the building and repair of his childrens homes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; two daughters, Jill (Michael) Hesse of Albany IL and Jody (Kevin) VenHuizen of Indianola, IA; two sons, Danny (Kimberly) Gooch of Albany, IL and Darrell (Sue Olsen) Gooch of Fulton, IL; eleven grandchildren, David (Brianna) Hesse, Amy (Dustin) Nelson, Beth (Christopher DeBroeck) Hesse, Joshua VenHuizen, Adam (Lena) VenHuizen, Andrew VenHuizen, Matthew Gooch, Aaron (Hannah) Gooch, Baylee Gooch, Trista Gooch and fianc Justin Gregory, Hailey Gooch and fianc Nick Bastian; twelve great-grandchildren, Caleb, Aiden, Eli, Carter, Bentley, Kaiden, Lennox, Connor, Daxton, Ian, Norah, Rilyn; one sister, Celia Huizenga of Albany, IL and one brother, Jerald (Carol) Gooch of Phoenix, AZ.He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Gooch and one sister, Helen Dyrdahl.
