Obituary for Genelda L. Scott
GENELDA L. SCOTT, 89, of Dixon Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon, IL, formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at the center.Genelda was born November 26, 1928, in Morrison, IL, to Arnold G. and Gertrude (Lyon) Waite. She was educated in the Prophetstown grade school and was a Prophetstown High School graduate. Genelda married Donald B. Scott on May 18, 1949, in Prophetstown. He died March 24, 2011. Genelda was employed by General Electric in Chicago, IL, and the Eclipse Lawnmower Factory in Prophetstown. Later, she and her husband owned and operated Prophetstown TV. Genelda was a member of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and an active participant in many of Prophetstowns main street activities. She served as a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed dancing.Survivors include one son, Bruce (Vanessa) Scott of Broken Arrow, OK; four grandchildren, Angela (Travis) Grobe, Jacob (Sherri) Scott, Nathan Scott, Aaron (Lesli) McKenzie; and ten great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; one son, Brent Scott; one sister, Janice Bradley; one brother, James Waite; and one grandchild, Tessa Scott.
