Obituary for Grace Mae Rowland
GRACE MAE SCHUTTE ROWLAND, 86, of Fulton, IL, died Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home in Fulton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday February 12, 2022, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Pastor Toni Lucas of Albany United Methodist Church officiating. A visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 PM Friday February 11th at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL. A memorial has been established to the Albany United Methodist Church.
Grace was born on December 31, 1935, in Clinton, IA, to Lester L. and Eva M. (Gundelfinger) Schutte. She was educated in the Clinton, IA grade schools and attended Fulton High School. On February 7, 1954 she married Robert R. Rowland at the Albany United Methodist Church in Albany, IL. In her early days, Grace worked at the Woolworths Café in Clinton, until starting her family and helping her husband out with the family farm. She was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing cards and gambling. She was an exceptional bowler, and was the only female to win the PBA Pro-Ams in Peoria.
Survivors include her husband, Bob, of Fulton, IL; three daughters, Debra Wyman of Glendale, AZ, Cynthia (Jeff) Parker of Clinton, IA and Brenda (Roger) Adams of Rock Falls, IL; one son, Terry Rowland of Alton, IL; twelve grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Steve Wyman; two brothers and their wives, Darold and Janice Schutte, Charles and Evelyn Schutte.
