Obituary for Harold E. Bielema
HAROLD E. "HARRY" BIELEMA, 78, of Albany, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his home. Harry was born June 14, 1936, in Fulton, IL, to Claus and Florence L. (Green) Bielema. He was educated in the Fulton grade schools and was a 1954 graduate of Fulton High School. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965. Harry married Linda Redmond on June 14, 1972, in Albany, IL. He worked at Dupont in Camanche, IA; Nitrin in Cordova, IL, and Merema Brothers in Fulton, IL. He retired from 3M in 1991 with 21 years of service. Harry was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church in Albany, IL, where he served on many different church boards. Harry enjoyed his family, playing guitar, bluegrass music, carpentry, and travel. He was a very compassionate man helping out anyone that had a need in the community. Survivors include his wife, Linda; three daughters, Sheila (Dave) VenHuizen of Fulton, IL; Jody Redmond of Sterling, IL; and Roberta Jo (Wesley) James of Sterling, IL; three sons, Alan (Jill) Bielema of Fulton, IL; Kevin Bielema of Albany, IL; and Tim (Lisa) Redmond of Davenport, IA; twelve grandchildren one sister, Patricia (Maurice) Bronkema of Forreston, IL; and one brother, Gordon Bielema of Laguna Vista, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Bielema; one grandson, William Pirch; and one brother, Fay Bielema.
