Obituary for Henry Hank Rose
HENRY "HANK" ROSE, 97, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Mercy Living Center South in Clinton, IA. Hank was born August 27, 1918, in Chicago, IL, to Ben and Hilda (Baker) Rose. He was educated in the Chicago grade schools. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On March 17, 1941 he married Mary Ellen Stanger in Camanche, IA. They later divorced. She died on March 1, 2013. Hank was first employed by Murphy"s Texaco Gas Station in Chicago. He then was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad, the Bennett Box Company and Climax Foundry in Clinton, IA. After his military service he worked for Liquid Carbonic and Herman Nelson Manufacturing, both located in Morrison, IL. He then farmed in Ustick Township and the Thomson, IL areas. Later he was employed by International Harvester in East Moline, IL and General Electric Co. in Morrison before retiring in 1976. Hank was a member of the Fulton American Legion Post #402. He enjoyed cutting fire wood for his wood burning furnace. Survivors include three daughters, Pat (Carl Hamm) Johnston of Fulton, Janice (John) Bogart of Fulton and Sandra Rose of Clinton; one son, Henry "Bud" Rose of Fulton; nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, fifteen step great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, Kathy Jean Rose; two sisters, Hilda Rose and Margaret Holtzer; one brother, Ben Rose.
