Obituary for Henry W. Evans
HENRY W. EVANS, 81, of Thomson, IL, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, IL.Henry was born October 6, 1935 in Clinton, IA, to Wilbert and Ruth (Schmidt) Evans. He was educated in the Clinton schools. On May 29, 1971 he married Ruth E. Kleppe in Morrison, IL. Henry was employed by Champion Dairy-Pak in Clinton for 47 years, retiring in 2000. He attended the Thomson United Methodist Church, was a Campground Volunteer for the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Thomson Causeway and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, vacationing, and spending time with his family and friends.Survivors include his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Beth (Brian) Balk of Thomson, IL and Joyce (Mark) McNeill of Rushford, MN; six grandchildren, Courtney Balk, Brady Balk, Ian McNeill, Ayla McNeill, Andrew McNeill and Ryan McNeill; one brother, Donald (Cheryl) Evans of Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Hattie Richman.He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, Harry Friis; two sisters, Edna Urban and Almeda Watson; one brother, Willard Evans.
