Obituary for Hubert W. Londo
HUBERT W. LONDO, 95, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
At his request, Hubert has donated his body to the Anatomical Association of Illinois for Medical Science Study. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Ken Renkes officiating. Following the memorial service there will be a time of continued fellowship and light refreshments at Resthave home in Morrison. Following the Medical Study, his cremated remains will be interred at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
Hubert was born March 31, 1923, in Fulton, IL, to William and Dorothy (Dykhuizen) Londo. He was educated in the Kingsbury School of rural Whiteside County, IL. Hubert married Gertrude L. Medema on February 14, 1945, in Erie, IL. She died July 3, 2015. Hubert farmed in the Round Grove area for 23 years. He later owned and operated Londo Trucking until retiring in 2000. Hubert was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and served as deacon, elder, and catechism teacher. A memorial to The Victory Center in Clinton, IA, has been established.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Brown of Eden, NC, and Faye (James) Roberts of Naperville, IL; one son, Richard (Dianne) Londo of Loves Park, IL; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and two nephews (whom he raised) William (Diane Smith) Londo and Marc (Dawn) Londo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gertrude; and one brother, Leonard Londo.
