Obituary for Janet E. Port
JANET E. PORT, 81, of Weeki Wachee, FL, formerly of Lyndon, IL, died Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, IL.Janet was born January 11, 1936, in Amherst, WI, to Carl and Bernice (Whiting) Pidde. She was educated in the Fulton, IL grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School in 1953. On June 3, 1955 she married Ronald G. Port in Clinton, IA. He died October 22, 2007. Janet was employed at the Morrison Community Hospital in the X-Ray department, and later by the former Smith Trust Savings Bank in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison. She enjoyed oil painting and craft work. She loved traveling, boating, camping, and spending time with friends and family.Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Marshang of Lyndon, IL; one son, Gary (Glynis) Port of Lyndon, IL; five grandsons, Quinn and Logan Marshang, Heath (Kelly) Port, Lucas (Shannon) Port and Clayton (Danielle) Port; six great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren;She was preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Carl Lindstrom; her husband, Ronald; one great grandson, Samuel Port; two sisters, Carla Wyatt and Patricia Poage; one half-sister, Connie Brewster; one brother, Charles Monty Pidde; one son-in-law, Larry Marshang.
