Obituary for Janie Vogel
JANIE VOGEL, 71, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Four Seasons Living Center in Morrison, IL. Janie was born April 3, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia to Chester and Julia (Shea) Platt. She graduated from Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, MI. After high school, Janie attended the Sterling School of Beauty in Sterling, IL. Janie married Thomas L. Vogel on September 29, 1962 in Morrison, IL. She worked at Climco Coils in Morrison, IL and Vend-Omack sales also in Morrison, IL. She was an Avon Representative and was in sales for WZZT Radio. For the last fifteen years, Janie was a beautician. She enjoyed gambling, slot-machines, listening to music and dancing. Survivors include her husband, Tom; two sons, Bryan Vogel and Terry (Dawn) Vogel, both of Morrison; one granddaughter, Gracie Vogel; two brothers, Jim (Judy) Platt of Cedar Rapids, IA and Dick (Vernice) Platt of Geneseo, NY; several nieces and nephews.
