Obituary for Jeanne M. Kettler
JEANNE M. KETTLER, 79, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL. Jeanne was born August 26, 1934, in Lost Nation, IA, to Ed and Beulah (Haack) Plambeck. She was educated in the Clinton, IA, grade and high schools. She married Clarence A. "Clink" Kettler on December 26, 1951, in Clinton, IA. Jeanne was first employed as Fulton City Clerk. She then worked as a secretary for the Riverbend School District and most recently as financial secretary for First United Methodist Church in Clinton, IA. Jeanne was a member of the First Reformed Church in Fulton, the church"s Helping Hand Society and King"s Daughters. She served as secretary for the Reformed Church of America Classis. Jeanne and her husband were actively involved in mission work. She also served as third precinct alderwoman on the Fulton City Council for one term. Jeanne was a volunteer at the Fulton Windmill Cultural Center and Mercy Medical Center in Clinton, IA. She was known as a civic and community minded person. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed baking, and following the activities of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the companionship of her much loved dog "Klinie". Survivors include her husband, Clink; three daughters, Linda (James) Humphrey of Plainfield, IN; Kathy Hand of Fulton, IL; and Nancy Fosburgh of Vancouver, WA; one son, Larry (Robyn) Kettler of Fulton, IL; ten grandchildren, Travis Humphrey, William Humphrey, Nicholas Hand, Katrina Hand, Russell (Misty) Huelle, Tracy (Mat) Stone, Steven (Michelle) Huelle, Jordan Kettler and fianc"e Dawn Kernich, Mckenzie Kettler, and Dennis Barr; five great-grandchildren, Madalynn Hansen; Cole, Melody, and Steven Huelle; and Austin White. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Roberta Comstock and Betty Svacina; one brother, Howard Plambeck.
