Obituary for Joy Wickes
JOY WICKES, 61, of Albany, IL, died Saturday, January 31, 2015 at her home in Albany. Joy was born May 26, 1953, in Savanna, IL, to Zeblun and Darlene (Wilson) Hartman. She was educated in the Sabula, IA grade schools and attended Sabula High School. She went on to receive her nurse"s aide certificate. She married Thomas S. Wickes on May 3, 1986 in Albany. Joy was a homemaker. She enjoyed the ocean and combing the beaches for treasures, especially shark"s teeth. More recently, she enjoyed riding her motorcycle. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, friends and most of all, Facebook. Joy was an avid bass fisherwoman, competing in many tournaments with her husband, Tom. She also enjoyed collecting anything that had a rooster on it. Survivors include her husband, Tom; one daughter, Tammy Kohn of Muscatine, IA; three sons, Roger Kohn of Louisiana; Rodney (Kelly) Kohn of Sterling, IL, Bradley (Olivia) Wickes of Albany, IL; twelve grandchildren; one great grandson, one sister, Sandy (Lloyd) Barten of Miles, IA; one brother, Joe (Lori) Hartman of Camanche, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robby Ray Kohn; one grandson, Landen Kohn; one brother, Zeb Hartman Jr.
