Obituary for Joyce E. Prins
JOYCE E. PRINS, 81, of Broadview, IL, formerly of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Chicago, IL. Joyce was born May 11, 1932, in Fulton, IL, to David and Lida (Nyweide) Flikkema. She attended Fulton, IL schools and graduated from Fulton High School. She later graduated from Central College in Pella, IA, with her BA degree. Joyce married Leroy G. Prins on August 16, 1957, in Fulton, IL. He died April 23, 2014. Joyce taught English and Home Economics at the Timothy Christian High School in Elmhurst, IL. After teaching for 5 years, she became a homemaker while raising her children. Survivors include one daughter, Eileen (Cem) Brinckley of Morrison, IL and one son, Leroy G. Prins, Jr. of Broadview, IL; three grandchildren, Ethan, Carissa, and Aidan Brinckley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; two sisters, Mildred A. Snider and Elvina; two brothers, Dr. B.L. Flikkema and David Stanley Flikkema.
