Obituary for June E. Scudder
JUNE E. SCUDDER, 82, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Citadel in Sterling, IL, surrounded by her family.
Her funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Mr. Ken Renkes officiating. A visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. will precede the funeral service. Interment will be at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established.
June was born June 13, 1940, in Dixon, IL, to Arlie and Sylvia (Sturdivant) Edwards. She was educated in the Franklin Grove Grade School and attended Morrison High School. On November 7, 1958 she married Eugene C. Scudder in Morrison. June was employed by General Electric in Morrison, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Morrison United Methodist Church. She had memberships with the GEM Club and the Whiteside County Snowbirds Club, where she served as president for two years. After retirement June and her husband enjoyed snowbirding in Texas. She had a variety of interests, and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and riding her motorcycle. She was a crocheter and made booties and hats for the premature baby centers in the area. June collected hummingbirds and tea pots. She ran the scoreboard for her children’s baseball games, and she enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations.
Survivors include her husband, Gene; one daughter, Terri Jo Starr of Morrison; two sons, Roger (Cathy) Scudder of Morrison and Tim (Tina) Scudder of Dixon; nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Joan (Tom) Merchant of Sacramento, CA and Jane (Vernon) Workman of Sterling, IL; one brother, John (Paula) Edwards of Holland, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson in infancy, Jeremy Lee Starr.
