Obituary for Kenneth E. Shaw
KENNETH E. SHAW, 92, of Resthave Home, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the home. Ken was born September 22, 1920, in Wyoming, IL, to Reuben M. and Ruth M. (Graves) Shaw. He was educated in Stark County Grade Schools and was a graduate of Wyoming High School. Ken served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Grace Reed-Wagner on March 26, 1955, in Brimfield, IL. She died November 8, 1975. His second marriage was to Dorothy P. Keller-Knox on August 27, 1977, in Morrison, IL. He was engaged in farming in the rural Peoria County area. Ken was also employed by Handel Implement in Chadwick, IL and as Groundskeeper for the former Morrison Country Club. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison and of the former Morrison Country Club. Ken was also a member of the American Legion " Morrison Post #328 and the Morrison VFW Post #8281.He enjoyed golfing and watching the Cubs. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Vicky (Jerry) Stuckey of Lecanto, FL; Ruth (Joseph) Brunner of Fairfield, OH; and Mary (James) Nurre of Montgomery, OH; three step daughters, Gail (Alvin) Smith, Peggy Ottens, and Kris (Arlyn) Deets all of Morrison, IL; seven grandchildren, Jeff Stuckey, Jace (Shannon) Stuckey, Tracy (Erika) Stuckey, Kenneth Brunner, Alicia Brunner, Keith Nurre, and Matthew Nurre; nine step grandchildren, Wade (Jill) Kaufman, Jacqueline (Rich) Woodman, Jeff (Kelly) Smith, Bart (Cindy) Ottens, Brett (Amber Howard) Ottens, Nicole (Mike) Arians, Randy (Missy) Planthaber, Zac (Katie) Deets, and Jace (Andrea) Deets; three great-grandchilden; many step great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie McDonough of Brimfield, IL; and one brother, Elmer Shaw of Speedway, IN. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace; one step daughter, Linda Brearton; one granddaughter, Amanda Grace Nurre in infancy; two step grandchildren, Bradley and Angela Marie Planthaber in infancy; three brothers, Ray, Lyle, and Larry Shaw.
