Obituary for Kenneth Richard "Rick" Stallings
KENNETH RICHARD “RICK” STALLINGS, 74, of Lyndon, IL, passed Friday, August 19, 2022 at Allure of Prophetstown.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Mr. Ken Renkes. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, prior to the service. A memorial fund has been established by the family.
Rick was born July 21, 1948 in Granite City, IL, to Henry and June (Tidwell) Stallings. He graduated from Granite City High School in 1966. He first married Donna Morelan, and later, on July 12, 1980, he married Cheryl Gorzny in Morrison. Rick was employed by John Deere Davenport Works, retiring after 30 years. He loved spending time outdoors and was passionate about golfing. For many years he golfed on leagues at Hidden Hills Golf Course in Bettendorf, IA. He also enjoyed bowling in a league at Leisure Lanes in Davenport, IA. Rick was very social and he would light-up a room when he walked in. He loved meeting people, making friends, making people laugh and giving hugs. He made friends everywhere he went and always left an impact on those that met him.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of Lyndon, IL; two daughters, Tracey Charneski of Sterling, IL and Nickolle Stallings of Granite City, IL; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Charneski, Brandon (Satin) Charneski, Rachel (Devin) Helfrich, Gary Rimington, Jacob Thomas, Emily Thomas and Chloe Thomas; three great grandchildren, Jason and Charlotte Charneski, Hayden Helfrich; one sister, Misty (Mark) Fanderclai of Florida; several nieces and nephews, and a beloved aunt, Ruth Staggs, of Centerville, TN.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Henry Stallings; his mother and step-father, June and Lester Matyas; a sister, Theresa Holmes; several aunts and uncles.
