Obituary for Kenneth W. Geesey
KENNETH W. GEESEY, 73, of Dixon, IL, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The funeral service will be private, for the immediate family only. Chaplin Richard Willhite of the Rock Falls American Legion will be officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. A memorial has been established.
Ken was born March 19, 1947 in Sterling, IL, to Orville Gray and Hazel Marie (Olson) Geesey. He was educated in the Sterling grade schools and was a 1966 graduate of Sterling High School. He went on to graduate from Sauk Valley Community College with an associate’s degree in law enforcement and corrections. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed by the former RB&W Mfg. in Rock Falls, IL for 32 years as a shipper/packer. He was a member of the Rock Falls American Legion Post #902, the Rock River Valley VietNow Chapter in Dixon and the HOG (Harley Operators Group) in Kewanee, IL.
Survivors include two daughters, Tanya (Karl) Drezek of LeClaire, IA and Heather (Mike) Koppien II of Sterling, IL; one son, Eric (Shawn) Geesey of Birchwood, TN; one step-son, Ronald (Sandra) Gladhill of LaSalle, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sandra Geesey of Rock Falls, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine, and one brother, Larry Geesey.
