Obituary for Larry A. Janssen
LARRY A. JANSSEN, 72, formerly of Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Windsor Manor in Morrison, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 20, 2018 at the MORRISON CHAPEL of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL. A memorial has been established by the family.
Larry was born December 12, 1945, in Morrison, IL, to Clarence “Art” and Annelle “Nell” (Rick) Janssen. He attended Prophetstown grade schools and was a graduate of Prophetstown High School in Prophetstown, IL. Larry served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Susan M. Gruenwald on October 6, 1984, in First Lutheran Church in Prophetstown. Larry was a Union Member for Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local Union #25. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Prophetstown Country Club. Larry loved raising horses and trail riding.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of Prophetstown, IL; one daughter, Jackie-Lauritzen of Geneseo, IL; three sons, John (Angela) Janssen of Calamus, IA; Justin (Cindy) Janssen of Watertown, TN; and Luke (Jenny) Sandberg of DeWitt, IA; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Judy (Paul) Borg of Indianapolis, IN and Kathy (Mark) Sandrock of Prophetstown, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
