Obituary for Larry H. Darby
LARRY H. DARBY, 70, of 13135 Pleasant Street, Morrison, IL, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison. Larry was born August 24, 1942, in Ottawa, IL, to Homer L. and Elaine F. (Cleeton) Darby. He was a 1961 graduate of Seneca High School in Seneca, IL. He married Emily (Harmon) Brandon in Ottawa. He later married Jane (Hetz) Beswick on June 5, 1988 in Iowa City, IA. After high school, Larry worked for his father. He was a member of the IBEW Local 145 " International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and held various electrician positions through the years. He retired from Electric Service in Clinton, IA. Larry was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison; the Morrison Dunlap Lodge #321 AF Scottish Rite Bodies of Moline, IL; Kaaba Shrine in Davenport, IA, and was a member of the Wheel Horse Patrol Shriners Parade Unit. Larry had a passion for electrical work, and always had a project to keep him busy. Survivors include his wife, Jane; one daughter, Amy Darby-Ryan of Erie, IL; two sons, Bruce (Brandy) Darby of Morrison, IL and Matthew (Laurel) Darby of Fulton, IL; two step daughters, Sally (Dave DeCock) Veselko of Clinton, IA and Lori (Pete) Vanderlaan of St. Charles, IL; two step sons: Rick Beswick and Terry Beswick, both of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; thirteen great step grandchildren; two sisters, Lynn (Ron) Mussatto of Ottawa, IL and Jean Morgan-Flash of Seneca, IL. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia and Marilynn, both in infancy; one son, Michael Darby; one step son, Tony Beswick; one brother, Ronald Dean Darby, in infancy.
