Obituary for LeRoy Wright
LEROY WRIGHT, 65, of Morrison, IL, died, Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison, with Rev. Kathy Burkheimer, retired pastor, officiating. There will be a visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2021 at Bethesda Lutheran Church. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Memorials have been established to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
LeRoy was born July 30, 1955 in Morrison, IL to James C. and Arlene B. (Weltzin) Wright. He was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School. He then graduated from MIT in Morrison. He married Mary Kay Benson on July 28, 1978, in Morrison, IL. LeRoy was employed by American Piping Group - Vegter Steel Fabrication in Morrison as a Senior Project Manager. He was president of the Board at MIT. LeRoy enjoyed woodworking and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; one daughter, Nichole (Jeff) Segneri of Nashville, TN; one son, Jason Wright of Atlanta, GA; one granddaughter, Vivienne Segneri; his mother, Arlene B. Wright of Morrison, IL; one sister, Sally (Lawrence) Oudekerk-Terry of Buda, IL; two brothers, Jim (Regina) Wright and Steve (Janet) Wright, both of Morrison, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Wright; one daughter, Ashton Wright; one brother, Jimmy Dale Wright in infancy; one nephew, Chris Wright.
