Obituary for Lorraine Eissens
LORRAINE EISSENS, 95, of Pinnacle Place in Savanna, IL, formerly of Thomson, IL, died Friday, October 8, 2021 at MercyOne Clinton – Clinton, IA.

There will be a private family visitation and funeral service with interment in Lower York Cemetery in Thomson. The Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lorraine was born May 16, 1926, in Stockton, IL, to Henry and Annabelle (Schultz) Young. She was educated in the Thomson Grade School and attended Thomson High School. On January 15, 1947 she married Charles J. Eissens in Fulton. He died August 4, 1994. Lorraine and her husband farmed in the Morrison and Fulton areas for ten years. She then was employed by Eaton in Savanna, and at the Thomson High School. She also worked in the dietary department at the former Harbor Crest Nursing Home for 11 years. Lorraine was a member of the Thomson United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Thomson PTA , the Thomson Women’s Club, and was the past president of the Thomson American Legion Auxiliary. Lorraine was an avid Cubs Fan and she enjoyed puzzles.

Survivors include three daughters, Deb (Kent) Bieber of Waukee, IA, Diane (Gary) Marvin-Ries of Preston, IA and Janice (Bradley) Cox of Byron, IL; three sons, Gene Eissens of Thomson, Robert (Cheryl) Eissens of Freemont, IA and Ken (Beth) Eissens of Thomson; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a daughter-in-law, Deanna Eissens; a son-in-law, David Marvin; four brothers, Charles Young, David “Bubby” Young, Henry “Hop” Young, and Clarence “Pete” Young.
