Obituary for Lorraine M. Schaver
LORRAINE M. SCHAVER, 88, of Mercy Living Center North, Clinton, IA, formerly of Albany, IL, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Center.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with visitation from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Toni Lucas, pastor of Albany United Methodist Church, Albany, IL, will officiate. Interment will be at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany, IL. A memorial to Albany United Methodist Church has been established.
Lorraine was born January 13, 1930, in Garden Plain Township, IL, to Lester and Dorothy (Sells) Rummel. She was educated in the rural Cedar Creek Grade school of rural Whiteside County and was a graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, IL. Lorraine married Raymond G. Schaver on April 24, 1948, in Albany, IL. He died April 27, 2009. Lorraine was employed by the former Volckmann’s Furniture Factory in Morrison, IL. She then worked as a waitress for the Albany Café, a telephone operator for the former Albany Telephone Company, a clerk for the former Dolan’s Grocery Store and later Van Drew Grocery Store all in Albany, IL. Lorraine was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church and the church’s Joy Circle. She enjoyed music, baking, and cooking.
Survivors include three sons, Garry (Beverly) Schaver of Palm Coast, FL; Gordon (Jolene) Schaver of Dubuque, IA; and Gerald (Carol) Schaver of Silvis, IL; five grandchildren, Aaron (Leslie) Schaver, Amanda (Tim) Powers, Nichole (Bill) Clark, Derek (Becky) Schaver and Jeremy Basham; five step grandchildren, Barry (Robin) Hinrichsen, Eric Hinrichsen, Brycee Irion, Kendall Parker, and Ryan Parker; fourteen great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Marguerite Massin of Libertyville, IL and Marian Groh of Eden Prairie, MN; special friends, Al and Becky Schmidt; Corey (Tonya) Schmidt; Tyler and Trevor Schmidt; Ashley (Coy) Ralley; and Casey Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ray.
