Obituary for Lucille R. Hook
LUCILLE R. HOOK, 96, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Morrison Community Hospital in Morrison.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 9, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church of Jordan in Sterling, IL, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Pastor Carol Soderholm, pastor of First Lutheran Church of Jordan, will officiate. Interment will be at West Genesee Cemetery in Coleta, IL. A memorial has been established by the family.
Lucille was born December 15, 1922, in Clyde Township, IL, to Julius and Viola (Walters) Habben. She married Isaac “Ike” Hook on May 12, 1943, in Wayland, MO. He died May 2, 1992. Lucille farmed along with her husband, Ike in the Whiteside County area. She also was employed by the Northside Grade School in Morrison as a cook’s assistant.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Taylor of Davenport, IA; one son, Dennis (Linda) Hook of Morrison; four grandchildren, Ken Schwartz, Austin Taylor, Ashley (Michael) Benson, and Rachel (Nicholas) Twait; five great-grandchildren, Kinslea and Emersyn Benson, Averie and Bailey Taylor; and Henry Twait.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ike; one daughter, Sherry Schwartz; two sons in infancy; one son-in-law, Bill Taylor; and one sister in infancy.
