Obituary for Marcia Ann Norris
MARCIA ANN NORRIS, 64, of Gainesboro, TN, died Monday, May 11, 2015, in Morrison, IL. Marcia was born March 6, 1951, in Wichita Falls, TX, to George and Gladys M. (Harvey) Karras. She was a 1969 graduate of Morrison High School and was a graduate of Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL, with her Associate Degree in Nursing. Marcia married James Cook in December 1969 in Morrison, IL. She later married Roger Norris in January 1992 in Crown Point, IN. He died in January 2012. Marcia was employed at various hospitals and nursing homes in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Tennessee with over 30 years of nursing experience. She loved animals and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading. Survivors include two daughters, Candace (Timothy) Slayton of Highland, IN and Christine Barandela of Valparaiso, IN; two sons, Anthony Cook of Morrison, IL and Daniel (Amanda) Cook of Morrison, IL; three grandchildren; two step daughters, Sherena (Jason) Koester of Altamont, IL and Sabrena Florida of Altamont, IL; three step grandchildren; one sister, Sarah A. Karras of Morrison, IL; one brother, George (Karen) Karras Jr. of Chicago, IL. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Roger; and one brother, John Karras.
