Obituary for Marilyn Jean Coffey
MARILYN JEAN COFFEY, 84, of Clinton, IA, formerly of Fulton and Albany, IL, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton, IA.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 20, 2018, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany, IL, with Rev. Father Matthew Camaioni, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton. Memorials have been established to Albany American Legion, Mercy Living Center North (Activities), and Speak Out Against Suicide.

Jean was born October 11, 1933, in Sterling, IL, to Clifford E. and Lorraine M. (Hurley) Gallentine. She attended Erie, IL High School and was a 1951 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School in Mt. Carroll, IL. Jean married Cecil E. Coffey on June 18, 1951, in Fulton, IL. He died March 18, 2004. Jean was employed at General Electric in Morrison, IL for 25 years. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Camanche, IA, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton. Jean was a member of the Albany American Legion Auxiliary. She loved camping, enjoyed reading and playing cards and games with family and friends. She was an avid Cubs and Fulton Steamers fan.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty MacLeod of Fulton, IL; Barbara (Jay VanDenEinde) Linder of Camanche, IA; and Laurie (Jim) Goldstein of Seffner, FL; two sons, Tom (Cindy) Coffey of Camanche, IA and Bob (Barb) Coffey of Fulton, IL; eight grandchildren, Megan MacLeod, Christy (Carl) Linder, Paula (Joe) Pino, Mindy (Derek) Fonte, Shawn (Beth) Coffey, Erika (Steve) Clements, R.J. (Lynne) Coffey and Joe Coffey; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe (Donald) Gallentine of Vancouver, Canada and Jim (Melissa) Gallentine of Sterling, IL; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gallentine and Arlene Crockett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; one grandson, Michael J. Linder; one sister, Dorothy Smith; two brothers, Bill and Francis Gallentine.
