Obituary for Marilyn L. Montgomery
MARILYN L. MONTGOMERY, 82, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton, officiated by Rev. Ralph Beidler. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton. A memorial to Spring Valley Reformed Church has been established.

Marilyn was born February 16, 1936 in Carthage, IL, to Russell and Ruby (Marlow) Whitford. She was educated in the Augusta, IL schools. On February 21, 1953 she married Donald L. Montgomery in Monmouth, IL. He died September 9, 2012. Marilyn was a proud Navy wife and a homemaker. She had worked at the former Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, IA, and also Farm and Fleet in Clinton. She was a member of Spring Valley Reformed Church in Fulton. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Donald E. (Kathy) Montgomery of Fulton, IL; two granddaughters, Melissa (Tim) Wiebenga and Angela (Nicholas) Bielema; four great grandchildren, Michael and Colin Wiebenga; Ruby and Lila Bielema; one sister, Ilene (Marvin) Godell of Hamilton, IL; one brother, Gene (Pat) Whitford of Colchester, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Montgomery; one daughter, Donna Montgomery; two sons, Michael G. and David L. Montgomery; one grandson, Donald Barsema; one brother.
