Obituary for Marilyn M. Miller-Smith
MARILYN MILLER-SMITH, 78, of 5260 Bishop Road, Prophetstown, IL, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at her home. Marilyn was born June 29, 1935, in Geneseo, IL, to Ernest Samuel and Leora Mabel (Klobes) Miller. She was educated in the Geneseo Grade Schools and was a 1953 graduate of Geneseo High School in Geneseo, IL. Her first marriage was to Leon R. Franck on February 14, 1956, in Geneseo, IL. She later married Wayne P. Smith on April 2, 1983, in Woodridge, IL. He died November 4, 2001. Marilyn was employed for over 40 years in the floral business, most recently for Lacy"s Amazing Vase Too in Prophetstown, IL. She was a member of Prophetstown United Methodist Church and served in various volunteer roles of the church"s ministry. Survivors include one daughter, Sherilyn (Tim) Murphy of Minooka, IL; one son, Scott (Lisa) Franck of Houston, TX; one stepdaughter, Susan (Shawn) Foltz of Prophetstown, IL; two stepsons, Dan Smith of Media, PA and Tim Smith of Tiffin, IA; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Quell of East Peoria, IL; one brother, Kenneth Miller of Geneseo, IL; one sister-in-law, Lora Lea Miller of Geneseo, IL; friend and companion, Loren Huizenga of Prophetstown, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Smith; one son, Kevin Franck; one grandson, A.J. Serpas; three brothers, Ronald Miller and two in infancy; one nephew, David Miller.
