Obituary for Marjorie R. Venhuizen
MARJORIE R. “MARGE” VENHUIZEN, 88, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or funeral services. A private committal service will be held at a later date at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association has been established.
Marge was born November 23, 1930 in Sterling, IL, to Rennie and Lodina (Medema) Buikema. She was educated in the Morrison Grade School and was a graduate of Morrison High School. On July 27, 1951 she married Theodore “Ted” Venhuizen in Morrison. He passed away on June 12, 2013. Marge was a homemaker and took joy in yard work and flower gardening. She treasured spending time with her family. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church and the church’s Ladies Aid Society.
Survivors include one son, Rick (Sherry) Venhuizen of Morrison, two grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Venhuizen and Monica (Joe) Tolliver; four great grandchildren, Jake Venhuizen, Cora, Patrick and Emma Tolliver; one sister, Geraldine (Jim) Kophamer of Morrison; one brother, Ron Buikema of Morrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
