Obituary for Marjorie Swanson
MARJORIE SWANSON, 91, of Clinton, IA, died Friday, October 2, 2020, at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton.
A private family graveside service will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, with Pastor Calvin Haines Jr.of Morrison United Methodist Church, officiating.
Marj was born July 10, 1929, in Whiteside County, IL, to Matthew and Sylvia (Dyson) Swanson. She was educated in the Morrison, IL School System. Marj worked at Pape’s Café in Morrison and Burpee Seed Company in Clinton for many years. Marj enjoyed watching parades, walking, coffee and conversation, good jokes, writing letters to friends and family of local to world news; Christmas decorations and all the holidays.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard and Bruce Swanson; two sisters, Corrine Ohlwine and Hazel Buikema; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters; Mary Alich, Leota Christensen, Velma Benesch, and one in infancy; two brothers, Raymond and Robert Swanson; a special friend, Bill Jensen.
