Obituary for Marlene Johnson
MARLENE “NENE” JOHNSON, 67, of Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Normal, IL.
Marlene’s funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Adams, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Morrison, IL, officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in the Fulton Twp. Cemetery. A memorial has been established by the family.
Marlene was born March 23, 1954, in Clinton, IA, to Ikey “Bill” and Mary I. (Frank) Engelkens. On May 21, 1993 she married William “Bill” Johnson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He died February 24, 2018. Marlene was a Fulton Corp retiree. She was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy (Airec) Allbritton of Normal, IL; one step-daughter, Michelle (Dean) Pingel of Clinton, IA; seven grandchildren, Ronnie Brewer, Zachary Brewer, Marcus Graham, Misty (Victoria Rosales) Graham, Tanlynn (Jake) Bushnell, Olivia and Leighanna Allbritton; seven great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Susan) Engelkens and Donald (Karen) Engelkens, both of Fulton, and Paul (Cathy Reinders) Engelkens of Fenton, IL; two sisters-in-law, Nancy DeWeerdt of Silvis, IL and Bonnie McClary of Fulton; two brothers-in-law, Frank Ernie Lilly and Larry Johnson, both of Fulton; many very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; one sister, Joyce Lilly; one brother-in-law, Robert Mike McClary.
