Obituary for Mildred S. Reynolds
MILDRED S. "MILLIE" REYNOLDS, 96, of Harbor Crest Home, Fulton, IL, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the home. Millie was born January 1, 1918, in Chicago, IL, to Adolph Verner and Mary (Eklin) Carlson. She was a graduate of Marinette High School " Marinette, WI. She received her nurses training at Augustana Hospital in Chicago. Millie served as a nurse with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during WWII. She married Clarence R. Reynolds on February 16, 1952 in Garden Plain, IL. He died Dec. 30, 2001. Following her military service, she, along with her late husband, engaged in farming in the Garden Plain area. She was a member of Garden Plain Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a Youth Group leader. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; one sister, Catherine Sweenie; two brothers, Verner and Wilbur Carlson.
