Obituary for Nancy E. Hagerman
Nancy Etta Ohnen-Hagerman passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 9th, 2019.
Nancy was born on February 15th, 1936 in Sterling to Pearl and Martha Etta Williamson. She married Donald Ohnen Sr. in 1954 in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on February 16th, 2001.
Nancy (Mom) made the best fried chicken and Ken is the 'Favorite One' who has her recipe. Don and I will deal with that issue later. She also passed her love of fishing and boating onto all of her children.
Throughout Mom's life she cared for her husband Don and their 5 children. But her true love was really singer Tom Jones and it's not unusual she felt that love for him. She would sing his songs daily as she secretly thought she was his Delilah. She never lost that loving feeling and was always a lady in her younger days. Her young life was not easy and her final wish was to be reunited in the green, green grass of home with her Mother who died when she was only 9 yrs old.
Survivors include four children; daughters Nora Poulter of Lyndon, Micki (Jon) Wills of Gold Beach, Oregon; Sons Donnie (Patty) Ohnen of Chino, CA and Kenny Ohnen of Prophetstown; one sister, Judy Rippy of Texas and one brother, Leroy Williamson of Rock Falls; 7 awesome grandchildren; Randy, Ryan, Heather, Josh, Emily, Lindsay and Baelee; and 6 beautiful great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Matthew; her son, Greg; husband Donald; brothers Jack Williamson, Dutch Bruns and a sister, Fern Tomkins; second husband Ray Hagerman.
There will be no services per Nancy's request. A Celebration of Life will be held in June.
